Johannesburg: Famous South African singer of Indian origin Surabjit Jaybeli Baldev has passed away at the age of 66.

According to close friends and associates, the singer known as 'Barry' Baldev, who died on Sunday morning, was a major participant in almost every Indian music show in South Africa.

“His last performance was at our Tamil New Year concert in Midrand on Saturday,” said Lexi Shunmugan, organizer of SA Musicians Against Covid.
