The first incident occurred at Janata Bazaar under Lahladpur block in Saran district, where rising water level due to heavy rains led to the formation of a crater around a pillar, which ultimately led to its collapse.

This bridge was the main route to reach Baba Dhundha Nath temple. Locals feared a collapse and even recorded the incident, while authorities had barricaded the area.

A 40-year-old bridge sank in the Gandak river in Deoria village under Maharajganj sub-division in Siwan. Villagers claimed that it collapsed due to lack of repair work.

The third bridge collapsed on Wednesday morning in Tevatha Panchayat of Maharajganj block of Siwan district. This bridge connected Nautan block to Sikandarpur village.

Earlier on Tuesday night, a bridge collapsed in Damai village of Siwan district. Villagers claim that the strong flow of water is the reason for the collapse. The bridge was recently repaired.

Earlier, similar incidents were reported from Araria on 18th June, Siwan on 22nd June, Motihari on 23rd June, Kishanganj on 27th June, Madhubani on 28th June and Kishanganj on 30th June.
