New Delhi: Byju brand owner edtech firm Think & Learn has started paying March salaries to its employees after a delay of nine days and the payment process is expected to be completed in the next 10 days, according to sources.

The company has held a group of four investors responsible for the delay in the letter sent to employees.

“We are happy to inform you that salary distribution has started today and will be completed in the next 10 days. Unfortunately, despite our efforts, due to the actions of four foreigners, we are yet to receive the rights issue fund. However, we have made alternative loan arrangements to ensure timely payment," Byju's said in an email to employees.

The company raised USD 200 million through a rights issue to meet its operational requirements including expenses related to employee salaries.

Sources said that 25 percent of the employees in the lower pay scale will get full payment while senior employees will get partial payment.

"We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this period," Byju's said in the email.
