New Delhi [India], Indian government sources said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and other senior officials.

The Prime Minister was given complete information about the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Modi was also informed about anti-terrorism efforts.

During the meeting, PM Modi stressed the importance of deploying the full spectrum of India's counter-terrorism capabilities.

He also spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and discussed the deployment of security forces and counter-terrorism operations.

The Prime Minister also spoke to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to take stock of the situation and was briefed about the efforts being made by the local administration.

This recent encounter follows a series of terrorist attacks in the Jammu and Kashmir region in the last few days.

Jammu and Kashmir region is witnessing an increase in violence with three significant attacks: Reasi terror attack, Kathua terror attack and Doda terror attack.

The first incident was recorded on June 9, when terrorists targeted a bus in Reasi, causing it to fall into a ditch, resulting in the death of at least nine pilgrims and injuries to 42 others.

Earlier, a Special Operations Group (SOG) constable was injured in an encounter in Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir Police said.
