In a wide-ranging conversation with NDTV Editor-in-Chief Sanjay Puglia, PM Modi said that the opposition is still spreading propaganda on unemployment while the Indian economy has progressed significantly in the last decade.

"Periodic Labor Force Survey (PLFS) data shows that unemployment has halved. More than 6 crore new jobs have been created in six years. According to the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), 6-7 lakh new jobs have been created. have been registered in the last 6 years,” he said.

Data from SKOCH Group, India's leading think tank dealing with socio-economic issues, shows that five crore jobs were created in the last 1 year.

"More than 1.25 lakh startups have been created, which have provided jobs to thousands of youth. There are more than 100 unicorns in the country worth more than Rs 8 lakh crore," PM Modi told NDTV.

Touching on emerging sectors like gaming and creator economy, P Modi said these new sectors have given many jobs to young Indians, especially from smaller cities and towns.

PM Modi said, "Green jobs are being created in the renewable energy sector. The aviation sector is growing rapidly, creating thousands of new jobs."
