Jabalpur/Umaria (MP), a police team led by a Pune official on Wednesday met the families of two software engineers killed in a Porsche car accident in Jabalpur and Umaria in Madhya Pradesh.

The team headed by Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Manoj Patil assured a free and fair investigation to the families of 24-year-old IT professionals Anish Awadiya and Ashwini Koshta, who lost their lives on May 19.

The fatal incident occurred when a speeding Porsche, reportedly driven by a 17-year-old boy, collided with his motorcycle in Pune city. The deceased Ashwini was a resident of Jabalpur and Anish was a resident of Birsinghpur Pali in Umaria district.

Speaking to reporters in Umaria, ACP Patil expressed solidarity with the families and confirmed a thorough investigation.

Patil said, "We are investigating in the right direction. The case is strict and the entire crime branch is engaged in this case."

In Jabalpur, Patil met the parents of deceased Ashwini Koshta at their residence.

Ashwini's father Suresh Koshta said, "Patil has assured us of a fair investigation and action against the accused persons in the case."

He said, the police officer has told us that the investigation is in the final stages and the documents will be submitted to the court soon.

Patil said that he has come here to condole the demise of young engineer Ashwini.
