Pune: Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kuma on Friday said an attempt was made to show that the 17-year-old minor who allegedly hit a motorcycle with his Porsche car, killing two people, was not responsible for the accident. Time was not driving.

The police chief said, based on technical and CCTV evidence, it has been confirmed that the car was being driven by a teenager.He said eyewitnesses have also confirmed that the teenager was driving the car at the time of the accident.

Kumar said an attempt was made to show that the car was being driven by an adult (family driver) and not a teenager when the vehicle crushed two people in the city's Kalyani Nagar area around 3 am on Sunday.

He said, "We are investigating these things and will take action against those making such attempts under section 201 (destroying evidence) of the IPC."

Asked about the blood samples, Kumar said the juvenile was sent to Sassu Hospital around 9 am on Sunday after the crime was registered. He admitted, “There was a delay in taking the blood samples as they were collected at 11 pm, but the blood report is not the basis of our case.,

He said the case has been registered under IPC section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and the teenager was fully aware that driving under the influence of alcohol would lead to such a crime and loss of lives.

He also said that special lawyers will be appointed to present the police's case aggressively in the court.
