New Delhi, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday interacted with eminent members of the Sikh community to discuss the achievements of the Modi government's 10-year tenure and the Prime Minister's vision of "Developed India 2047".
The event launched by Puri at his residence was attended by eminent Sikhs from all walks of life, during which the minister highlighted how Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked for the welfare of the community and his love for them.
The interactive session – “Special Contact Campaign” – was attended by eminent lawyers, industrialists, academicians, members of the armed forces and politicians, among others.
Puri said that the Sikh community is small but very accomplished and is second to none.
He enlisted several members of the community - from fashion designers to people from the culinary world, principals of Shriram College of Commerce and Mata Sundari College for Women, singer Daler Mehndi, president of the governing body of Miranda House, civil servants, National Minorities Commission chairman Iqbal Singh Lalpura, senior lawyer and former Punja MLA HS Phulka, former PNB chief SS Kohli and former Rajya Sabha MP Tarlochan Singh.The Minister said that the Sikh community has a special place in the Prime Minister's heart and hearing.
Listing several initiatives taken by Modi for the community, he said, "It is his desire to give this community its rightful place in the country."
