In the viral video, the Maha Congress president can be seen getting his mud-stained feet and legs washed by a party worker. He is not even seen showing any reluctance when he bows before him to wash his feet with water.

The incident reportedly took place on Monday in Vadgaon in Akola district, where he had gone to attend his birthday celebrations organized by a party worker. While returning from the program his feet got stained with mud. When the party worker washed his feet with water, someone in the crowd recorded it on camera.

The disrespectful and distasteful conduct of the senior Congress leader has also embarrassed the party and is inviting criticism from the BJP.

The BJP launched a scathing attack on the Congress party and its Maharashtra unit chief for blatant misuse of power and also accused them of promoting 'feudal mentality'.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala wrote on the X handle, "The mentality of Congress is that of Nawabi feudal prince." They treat the public and workers like slaves and themselves like kings and queens.

He also pointed out that such despicable acts were happening when the party was in opposition and one can imagine what will happen when they are in power.

“Nana Patole and Congress should apologize for insulting the public,” he demanded.

Cornered by journalists over allegations of 'forcing workers into slavery', Nana Patole said that he comes from a farming community and has no such intention.

Accusing the BJP of making a big deal out of the controversy, he tauntedly said, "Thank you for giving publicity."
