North Sound (Antigua), star batsman Virat Kohli found the much-needed rhythm before Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya, who hit a resounding unbeaten fifty, pushed India to 196 for five against Bangladesh in their Super 8 match in the T20 World Cup here on Saturday.

Struggling for runs since his selection in the Indian team, Dube (34 off 24) was once again slow before hitting three sixes to make an impact towards the end of the innings.

Hardik (50 not out off 27 balls) provided the finishing touch to take the team closer to 200.

The all-rounder completed his 50 on the last ball of the innings.

Captain Rohit Sharma (23 off 11) was happy to lose the toss at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium and along with Kohli (37 off 28), he was able to play his shots early on unlike the previous games.

Bangladesh started with spinners from both ends, an interesting move against the two right-handers.

After three fours and a six, Rohit made space to deposit Shakib Al Hasan over extra cover but ended up wasting the moment to be caught.

Kohli was also serious and his choice of shot was Mustafizur Rahman's 94-metre six towards the cow corner region.

He then welcomed leggie Rishad Hossain for six in a row before being deceived by a slow cut from pacer Tanzim Hasan.

Two balls later, the pacer got a pitch to skip along, kissing the gloves of Suyakumar Yadav for a double hit in the over, leaving India at 83 for three in 10 overs.

Rishabh Pant (36 off 24) then returned the momentum in India's favor by collecting two fours and a six at deep mid-wicket off Mustafizur, who had a rare day off.

In the next over, Pant attacked Rishad before falling to reverse sweep for the second consecutive innings.

Dube and Hardik then shared a 53-run stand to advance the innings.

Hardik finished with four boundaries and three sixes, while Dube successfully targeted the deep midwicket boundary against the spinners, besides hitting Tanzim to the ground for a maximum.
