Fazilka (Punjab) [India], Border Security Force personnel in collaboration with Punjab Police on Tuesday arrested three smugglers and later recovered two packets of suspected heroin weighing 500 grams in Fazilka district, the BSF said in a statement. A search operation was carried out on specific grounds. Based on information from the BSF Intelligence Wing, a deep blockade was set up on the outskirts of Natha Singh Wala, a border village in Fazilka district, in which suspected drug smugglers were targeted. The coordinated efforts resulted in the capture of three smugglers who had a history of involvement in drug trafficking. Both packets were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and were found to have metal rings attached to them. Interrogation of the arrested persons revealed some important information about the location of the drug consignment.
