Justice Nagu previously served as the Acting Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. He was appointed as a judge there in 2011.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended, saying, "In respect of his contribution to the judiciary through disposal of cases, during his tenure of more than 12 years as a judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, he authored more than 499 reported judgments Are." Name him as Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court.

“He has gained wide experience in dispensing justice in the High Court. He is considered an able judge and possesses a high level of integrity and conduct which is required of a person holding a high judicial officer position,'' the collegium said.
