Nadal invited Tomás Martín Etcheverry of Argentina, the current No. 31 in the ATP rankings, and the players teamed up for an intensive training block in Greece.

"The place where we are training is strange... and with Nadal going there, I would say he is playing very well," the Argentinian told ATPTour.com. What was it like for the La Plata native to spend a few days with the 92-time Tour-level titlist? “I had a chance to ask him things, ask for advice, and he was always very polite, helpful, making progress, and he had a lot of time for everyone,” Echeverri said.

“These days have been like a dream for me, a really amazing experience, above all spending time with Rafa, a player I have been watching since I started playing tennis, one of the best in history, So it was crazy. It was a privilege and an honor," Echeverri added.

Nadal will be in action at the Nordea Open next week. This will be the Spaniard's first appearance at the ATP 250 since winning the event in 2005.

Holding a 7-5 season record, Nadal continues to find competition time and rhythm ahead of the Olympics in the French capital, where he will play in singles and partner Carlos Alcaraz in doubles.

The 38-year-old Nadal, who has said 2024 could be the final season of his career, will play his first competitive match since losing to Alexander Zverev in the first round of Roland Garros on May 27. They are 7-5 so far on the season, with their best result being a fourth round run on home soil in Madrid.
