Faridkot (Punjab), Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he has "nothing" to do except "abusing" the opposition party on a daily basis.

Addressing an election rally here for the party's Faridkot candidate Amarjeet Kaur Sahoke Kharge, he also said that PM Modi takes the name of Congress more than God in a day.

He claimed that people are strongly supporting Congress and his party will win the elections.

The Congress President alleged that whatever PM Modi says, he never does. “At least do some work, show some work. Instead he abuses Congress every day.,

"Today the situation has become like this, Modi ji takes the name of God more, takes the name of Congress more...he takes the name of Rahul ji more and beats us every day. He said, "God in one day. He takes the name of Congress more than others...he takes the name of Rahul Gandhi more and abuses us every day.

"He (Modi) is going everywhere to speak against the Congress...such people can scare us as much as they want, but we will not bow down," he said.

Taking aim at the PM, Kharge said that his (Modi's) '56 inch chest' will not be useful in Punjab.

On PM Modi calling Rahul Gandhi 'shehzada', Kharge said that he (Modi) changes jackets and shirts every hour, alleging that he shows off to seek votes.Referring to BJP's allegation that Congress has not brought any development in 5 years, Kharge said the grand old party built Bhakra Dam ports, roads and set up public sector companies during its tenure.

He asked the BJP-led Centre, "What did they do," and hit out at Modi for speaking about mangalsutra, buffalo in his speeches at election rallies.

He said, "People are fed up with them (BJP). People are troubled by unemployment and inflation."

He targeted the Modi government over the Agniveer scheme and claimed that it will destroy the careers of the youth. “If India Bloc comes to power, it will scrap this scheme.,

Kharge also criticized the BJP government for not filling 30 lakh jobs in the central government.

Speaking about his party's election promises, he said that if the India Bloc comes to power, it will waive off farm loans and give a legal guarantee to the minimum support price.

Voting for all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab will be held on June 1, the last phase of the ongoing general elections.
