New Delhi [India] Delhi Police has arrested a husband and wife for allegedly snatching a mobile phone.

Information about the incident was given to Jagat Puri police station through PCR call.

According to the complainant, the snatching took place at 6 am in the morning at Vijay Sariya Shop, Main Road, Chander Nagar.

The caller told that two people riding a scooter had snatched his Infinix phone.

On receiving the complaint, a case was registered under sections 356, 379 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Jagat Puri police station and investigation was initiated.

A team from the station was instructed to examine CCTV footage from the spot to trace the route taken by the criminals.

Analysis revealed that the theft of the scooter in question was reported under section 379 IPC at PS Shakarpur on May 4, 2024.

With the help of footage and confidential information, police identified the suspects as Maroof Khan and his wife Shahida, also known as Soni.

A raid was conducted, which led to the arrest of both the suspects.

The stolen Infinix mobile phone and the scooter used in the crime were recovered from their possession and later confiscated.

During interrogation, the accused revealed their involvement in many criminal activities.

Maroof Khan has a history of 19 previous cases, while Shahida has two prior criminal involvements.

The police appreciated the efficiency and dedication of the team involved in the investigation, which led to the timely arrest of the criminals and recovery of the stolen items.
