New Delhi [India]: A 42-year-old man was injured when a hoarding installed on Gokulpuri Market Main Road in Delhi's Yamuna Vihar collapsed early Saturday, police said. According to officials, the hoarding installed at the entrance of Gokulpur Market Main Road collapsed at around 3:45 am after being hit by a Delhi Metro truck. The hoarding fell on two vehicles, including a three-seater auto-rickshaw (TSR and a pickup van), which were damaged in the incident. The auto-rickshaw driver, identified as Ajab Singh, a resident of Gokulpuri, was sitting on a car. bench and were injured in the incident, DCP North East Joe Tirkey said that after the incident, locals of the area reached the spot and informed the police, a team of police reached the spot with a crane, and the hoarding was removed. However, the truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. Based on the incident, a case has been registered against him under section 279/336/337 of the IPC and the police is investigating the matter.
