New Delhi: Rain lashed parts of Delhi on Saturday, a day after monsoon arrived in the national capital with the heaviest rainfall in 88 years.

The areas where it rained this morning also include Rohini and Burari.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted generally cloudy sky with heavy rain during the day.

The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius. IMD said the maximum temperature is likely to be around 32 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level was 80 percent.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi's air quality index (AQI) was recorded in the 'moderate' category with a reading of 108 at 9 am.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', between 51 and 100 'satisfactory', between 101 and 200 'moderate', between 201 and 300 'poor', between 301 and 400 'very poor' and 401 and between 500 is considered 'severe'.

Monsoon arrived in Delhi on Friday and wreaked havoc as it lashed the unprepared city with heavy rains that lasted for three hours, causing the roof of Delhi airport's Terminal 1 to collapse, killing one person and suspending flight operations. , and many parts of the capital were submerged. ,

Four others died in rain-related incidents.

The national capital recorded 228.1 mm rainfall on Friday, the highest in the month of June since 1936.

According to the IMD, Safdarjung, the city's primary weather centre, recorded 228.1 mm rainfall, Lodhi Road, Mausam Bhawan 192.8 mm, Ridge 150.4 mm, Palam 106.6 mm and Ayanagar 66.3 mm.
