As a result, no country recognized his government. The country's banking reserves are frozen in the West, and senior Taliban leaders are on a US sanctions list.

On Wednesday, the United Nations Security Council lifted the travel ban on four senior leaders of the Taliban government. Ban was lifted on his travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, where he will perform the annual Muslim pilgrimage Hajj.
