New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena issued directions to ensure transparency in the execution of projects under DDA's Delhi Gramodaya Abhiyan, a Raj Niwas official said on Thursday.

Saxena on Thursday reviewed the status and progress of projects under the ambitious scheme of Delhi Development Authority (DDA).

The Lieutenant Governor directed that every project should have a board displaying the names of funding and executing agencies, contractors and their phone numbers, project cost and timeline, tender amount and the name and number of the District Magistrate for redressal of any grievance . , the statement said.

Additionally, on a portal set up to monitor the projects, before and after photographs of the locations and the project being undertaken will be uploaded along with the dates.

The portal will also have the tender document of the L-1 bidder and the work order issued to him. This information will be available for everyone to see.

Delhi Gramodaya Abhiyan, being implemented at a cost of over Rs 960 crore in the villages of Delhi, is undertaking projects to improve or enhance civic infrastructure in villages.

The statement said the projects being implemented include construction of roads and boundary walls, drainage, parks, community centers and cremation grounds and planting of trees along roads and borders.

These projects are being started in consultation with the villagers and according to their needs. The statement said projects worth Rs 503 crore are already under implementation and district magistrates have been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring them.
