Thane: Police have registered a case against two brothers for allegedly defrauding a transporter of Rs 22.50 lakh in Maharashtra's Thane city, an official said.



Both the accused worked as operations managers and goods loading in-charges in the transporter's firm here.

An official from Naupad police station said that since March, the accused duo manipulated the payment details of the company's truck and trailer drivers and allegedly took payment of vehicle cleaners, even though no such person worked with the transporter. Did.

Police said the two accused later fled from their residence in Thane and took away mobile phones and a laptop given to them for official use, thus collectively duping the transporter of Rs 22.50 lakh.

Following a complaint by the transport firm owner, police on Tuesday registered a case against the two accused under sections 40 (criminal breach of trust), 379 (theft) and 34 (acts done by several persons with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. . ), the officer said.
