The list of top 10 rankers includes a total of 57 successful candidates, most of whom are from districts in the state.

Only one from Kolkata has found a place in the list of top ten rankers. Of the five examinees who got the first ten ranks, eight are from South 24 Parganas district, which is the highest among all the districts.

Even in terms of pass percentage, the districts of West Bengal have continued to dominate the state capital. In terms of passing percentage, Kalimpong district is the best performing district, followed by East Midnapore at second place and Kolkata at third place.

Announcing the results of the 2024 state board exams on Thursday, WBBS President Ramanuj Gangopadhyay said the passing percentage this year has increased from 86.15 per cent last year to 86.31 per cent.

He also said that the examination process of 45 candidates has been cancelled. The results of two candidates have been withheld.

This year's topper is Chandrachur Sen of Rambhola High School in Cook Bihar district of West Bengal, who has scored 693 marks out of 700. In second place is Samaypriyo Guru of Purulia District School, who has scored 692 marks out of 700.
