Raipur: Counting of votes was underway on all 11 seats in the state on Tuesday, according to the latest trends of which, BJP was ahead on nine Lok Sabha seats and Congress on two seats.

Counting of votes is going on at 33 centers in the state from 8 am.

In the high-profile Rajnandgaon seat, Congress leader and former chief minister Bhupesh Baghel is leading over sitting BJP MP Santosh Pandey by 2,402 votes.

In the key Raipur seat, influential BJP leader Brijmohan Aggarwal is leading over Congress's Vikas Upadhyay by 13,823 votes.

In Durg, sitting BJP MP Vijay Baghel is ahead of his nearest rival Rajendra Sahu of Congress by 2,483 votes.

In the Naxal-hit Bastar seat (reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates), BJP's Mahesh Kashyap is leading over Congress' firebrand leader Kawasi Lakhma by 269 votes.

On Korba seat, Jyotsna Mahant of Congress, wife of current Leader of Opposition Charandas Mahant, is leading over BJP's Saroj Pandey by 6,775 votes.

BJP is leading in Bilaspur, Mahasamund, Kanker (ST), Janjgir-Champa (SC-Reserved), Raigarh (SC) and Surguja (ST) seats.

In the three general elections from 2004 to 2014, the BJP won 10 out of 11 seats in the state.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP won nine seats, while the Congress won two.
