Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) [India]: A child was killed while over 30 others were injured when a passenger bus overturned due to driver's negligence in Bilaspur, a police official said on Sunday.
According to Bilaspur Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajneesh Singh, "A bus carrying more than 50 passengers overturned in Bilaspur. This incident happened on Lalkhadan over bridge of Torwa police station area."
"One child is reported dead in the incident and more than 30 people are seriously injured. The injured were sent to the hospital for treatment with the help of people," the officer said. He told that the car overturned due to the negligence of the driver.
"The administration has ensured that the injured get better treatment," he said.
Police have registered the case and further investigation is underway.
In a post on Twitter, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said, "Received the sad news of the death of a girl and injuries to 30-35 passengers when a bus overturned near Bilaspur. The injured were admitted to SIMS and District Hospital Is." ,
He further said, "The Collector has been directed to make proper arrangements for the injured persons. I pray to God for the peace of the soul of the deceased girl and speedy recovery of the injured."
