New Delhi: Four people have been arrested for allegedly robbing a man of Rs 4.80 lakh and murdering him in West Delhi's Naraina area. Police gave this information on Monday.

They were identified as Anuj (35), the main accused in the case, and his associates Abhishek, Neeraj and Suraj, all residents of Haryana.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer said the body of Vibhuti Kumar, about 40, was found in a building in the Narayana police station area on June 12.

A case of murder was registered and a team was formed to nab the accused. Veer said that during the investigation, Anuj was identified as a suspect based on CCTV camera footage of the area and he was caught from Rohtak in Haryana.

According to the police, during interrogation, Anuj told that he had huge debt.

Anuj and Kumar were friends and Kumar would often visit Anuj's flat in Delhi's Karampura area, the DCP said. When the accused came to know that Kumar handled huge amounts of cash on a daily basis because of his cosmetics shop, he arrested his associates. Made a plan with. kill him.

The officer said that Abhishek, Neeraj and Suraj, who were caught from Jind district of Haryana, were also in debt.

Police said the looted money has been recovered, while a mobile phone and other incriminating evidence have been seized.

Veer said, the accused have confessed and further investigation has been started.
