The shocking incident took place in Bhimili, a suburb of the port city.

Bhargava (27) died of suspected rabies on Tuesday, four days after his father Narasinga Rao (59) died in hospital.

A week ago, father and son were bitten by their pet dog. Narasinga Rao was bitten by a dog on his leg, while Bhargava got injured on his nose. The dog died within two days of suspected rabies.

After the dog's death, Rao and his son had taken anti-rabies vaccination, but apparently due to the delay, both of them developed rabies symptoms and ultimately died tragically.

Narasinga Rao was an employee of the Road Transport Corporation but was bedridden for the last few years due to paralysis. His son was a railway employee.

His death shocked people in Bhimili. Local health officials began an investigation into the causes of the deaths.
