Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala Congress on Saturday demanded a comprehensive investigation into allegations of irregularities in the NEET 2024 results.

The grand old party said the results of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) have raised concerns about the authenticity of the national exam for medical courses, with many students raising doubts over the process.

In a letter sent to the Centre, Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly V D Satheesan said many students from Kerala have personally expressed concerns about the NEET exam results.

"I write to demand a comprehensive investigation into the questionable results of the recently published NEET results for 2024," the Congress leader said in a letter sent to the secretaries of the departments of Higher Education and Health and Family Welfare of the central government.

He said it was "extremely worrying" to see that 67 students got full marks, eight of whom came from the same exam centre.

“It should be noted that this figure is only two in 2023 and four in 2022. Moreover, the students scored 719 and 718 marks out of 720, which is theoretically not achievable given the NEET exam format "

The fact that the results were declared 10 days before the proposed date raises "considerable doubt" over the validity of the evaluation process.

The opposition leader said, "The suspicious results have given more credence to the allegations surfaced earlier regarding the NEET question paper leak. I regret to inform you (Centre) that any irregularities in the NEET results will result in the loss of thousands of eligible students." Will undermine hopes and dreams." Said.

He said that unqualified candidates would deteriorate the quality of our healthcare system in the long run, which he considered a major injustice to future generations.
