The kidney extracted by a team of doctors at Ma Super Specialty Hospital was successfully transplanted into a 50-year-old patient who was suffering from kidney failure.

Punjab Police was roped in to create green corridors by clearing traffic for ambulances to transport the body faster.

Jagdish Sethi, associate director of kidney transplant, said the recipient was suffering from kidney failure for the last two years and was in desperate need of a transplant.

The transplant has gone well and the recipient patient is now stable, he said.
