Ramanagara (Karnataka): A BJP worker suffered head injuries after he was allegedly attacked with wooden sticks by two men at Kempashettidoddy village here, police said on Thursday. He told that farmer Naveen CS (34) was attacked on April 9.

After the incident, BJP state president BY Vijayendra accused Congress of attacking BJP-JDS workers and creating an atmosphere of fear.

According to Naveen's family, a day before the incident he had gone to his acquaintance Shekhar's house when some people told him that Shekhar had called him. Matters worsened when Naveen did not return home that night.

In his complaint, the victim's brother Shivakumar CS said that on April 9, someone called him and said that his brother was at Shekhar's house in Kempashettidoddy village.When Shivakumar and his father went there to pick up Naveen, they saw Shekha and her companion allegedly fighting with Naveen and hitting him on the head with a wooden stick.

The accused also allegedly tried to attack Naveen with a knife, but he was saved due to the intervention of his brother and father. After this the accused fled from the spot. The victim was immediately taken to a local hospital where after initial treatment he was transferred to another hospital where he is currently being treated.

According to Shivakumar, there were some financial transactions between Shekhar and Naveen and he suspects that a monetary dispute might have led to the fight which ultimately led to the attack.“Based on the complaint, a case has been registered under sections 32 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 504 (insulting with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. Bidadi police station and further investigation is underway, a senior police officer said.

He said that no one has been arrested yet in this case.

Taking to the X, the state BJP president shared a photo of the injured party worker and alleged that the Karnataka Congress which is "known for its politics or hooliganism with money, liquor and muscle power" is desperate in Bengaluru rural.

“They have brutally attacked the voters and the BJP-JDS workers standing against them and have started creating fear in the constituency.A Congress goon has carried out a fatal attack on silk producer and BJP worker Naveen, but the culprits have not been arrested, giving rise to suspicion," he alleged.

Taking aim at Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and his brother Suresh, who is the Congress candidate from Bengaluru Rural, he further alleged that the district is under the control of the DK brothers (Shivakumar and Suresh) and said they are attacking BJP workers. And threatening the voters. An "unpardonable" crime.

He urged the Election Commission and the police to take immediate action against "Congress goons", conduct a fair investigation and take all necessary measures to conduct peaceful elections and protect voters.
