Bengaluru, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday warned of strict action against real estate agents and policemen who collude with criminals.

He said that no crime can take place without the knowledge of the police and hence senior officers should always interact with the common citizens to get information about the illegal activities taking place in an area.

"Police personnel should not be involved in collusion with real estate dealers. I am telling you in clear words that if we come to know about it, we will... We will take strict action."

He said that drug trafficking, rioting, theft, robbery and gambling cannot happen without the knowledge of the local police.

The CM said, "It is not possible that these things can go on without the knowledge of the local police. In some places, policemen get associated with such criminals."

Siddaramaiah also underlined the need for proper coordination between police and intelligence officers and said they were lacking.

He also stressed that policemen should stay away from politics and never display their political inclinations.

In this context, the Chief Minister recalled an incident in Vijayapura where some policemen had openly displayed a party symbol.

Siddaramaiah warned, “We will not tolerate any kind of indiscipline in the police force.”
