New Delhi, Air India has launched real time baggage tracking facility for passengers on its website and mobile application.

In recent times, there have been complaints against the airline regarding lost luggage and delays in receiving luggage.

The Tata Group-owned airline on Thursday said it is one of the few airlines in the world that offers this facility directly to guests without the intervention of airline staff.

Among other things, current location and arrival details of luggage will be available to passengers.

"Position coverage includes all critical baggage touch points where baggage tracking technology is available such as check-in, security clearance, aircraft loading, transfer and arrival at the baggage claim area," the airline said in a release.
