Etawah (UP), June 14 (Language) A farmer allegedly committed suicide because he was worried about not being able to repay the loan. The police gave this information here on Friday.

Mansoor Ahmed, station house officer (SHO) of Chauvia police station, said Vikas Jatav (30) committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in his field in Chauvia village on Thursday night.

According to SHO Ahmed, Jatav had left the house on Thursday evening saying that he was going to the fields for paddy transplantation, but did not return at night. On Friday morning, people saw his body hanging from a tree and informed the police.

Deceased's wife Rita Devi told that Jatav had taken a loan of Rs 1.5 lakh from a moneylender and for the last one week he was worried about not being able to repay the loan and the increasing interest, hence he took this step. ,

The station in-charge said that the body has been sent for post-mortem and the investigation is ongoing.
