Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday attacked the former YSRCP government for commercializing Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams during his visit to the temple after taking oath on Wednesday.

"They have commercialized TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams). Once you are on the hill top, you should feel pure, the offerings should be neat, and the rates should not be inflated. Darshan tickets are sold in the black market. Should not be sold." Naidu said this while talking to journalists on Thursday.

Accusing the former government of turning the holy place into a hub of marijuana, liquor and non-vegetarian food, Naidu said, “They have made this place worse, they have made it a hub of marijuana, liquor and non-vegetarian food.,

The Chief Minister also questioned the Jagan Mohan Reddy government for allocating posts as per his wish and influencing court cases.

"Will you sell out Venkateswara Swamy for your own benefit? You give position as per your wish! You give position to influence your court cases!" Naidu said.

The Chief Minister offered prayers at Tirupati Balaji temple in Tirumala along with his family on Thursday morning.

CM Naidu reached Tirumala on Wednesday evening, where he was warmly welcomed by the temple authorities.

During the visit, the Chief Minister was accompanied by his wife Nara Bhuvaneshwari, son and Minister of State Nara Lokesh, Lokesh's wife Nara Brahmani and his son Devansh.

A large number of people were present outside the Tirumala temple upon the arrival of the Chief Minister.

Naidu was sworn in as the 18th CM of Andhra Pradesh in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at an event in Vijayawada on Wednesday.On Wednesday, along with the Chief Minister, the 24-member cabinet also took the oath of office. This includes MLAs from Telugu Desam Party, Janasena Party and BJP. Andhra Governor S Abdul Nazeer administered the oath of office to the ministers.

This is the fourth time that Naidu is taking charge as the Chief Minister of Andhra and the second time after bifurcation in 2014. Naidu first became Chief Minister in 1995, before the bifurcation of Andhra, and led the state for nine consecutive years until 2004. The TDP supremo returned as chief minister of divided Andhra in 2014 and served until 2019.

Naidu had led the TDP-BJP-Janasena National Democratic Alliance to a landslide victory in the assembly as well as parliamentary elections.

In the 175-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly, the TDP has a majority with 135 MLAs, while its ally Janasena Party has 21 and the BJP has eight.The opposition YSR Congress Party was reduced to 11.
