Bengaluru, Due to heavy rains in coastal regions of Karnataka, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning to fishermen till June 29.

Stating that turbulent weather conditions with winds of 35-45 km/h and gusts of up to 55 km/h are likely to prevail till June 29, the IMD reiterated its warning to fishermen, asking them not to enter the sea.

It has also issued high wave alerts for the Dakshina Kannada coast (Mulki to Mangalore), Udupi (Baindur to Kapu) and Uttara Kannada (Majali to Bhatkal). With high waves in the range of 2.9m to 3.7m until June 29, the meteorological center advised caution when conducting marine operations and recreation near the coast.

Stating that waterlogging and flooding in low-lying areas, as well as landslides and rockfalls, are possible, he has warned people to avoid areas prone to flash flooding and be prepared for power outages and traffic disruptions.

According to their report, Bengaluru is likely to receive very light rain tomorrow, with temperatures ranging between 26.4 degrees Celsius and 21.3 degrees Celsius.

In Karnataka, Agumbe received the highest rainfall at 81.5 mm on June 27 and Bengaluru city the lowest at 0.1 mm.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru-based water expert and one of the founders of Biome Trust, S Vishwanath, who tracks the inflow of the reservoir in 'X', pointed out that there has been good inflow in the Kaveri basin.

"Kabini roars," he posted on social media on June 27 from his @zenrainman account. He had also earlier noted that Kabini will be the first reservoir to be filled as it is a small reservoir with a large rainfall catchment area.

According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre, as on June 28, the water inflow to Kabini was 20,113 cusecs.

Another 'X' user, who also tracks the weather in the state through his account Namma Karnataka Weather (@namma_vjy), pointed out that the water level has started going down in Bhagamandala Triveni Sangama.

"Rain intensity has reduced across Kodagu and reservoir areas in northern Kerala. Heavy rains are likely to fall again during the next wave in July. Therefore, it is likely that in the coming days produce light to moderate rains across Kodagu," posted in 'X'. .
