The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) initiated action against the company on Thursday, he said.

"On Thursday afternoon, the Pune RTO issued a notice to a Pune-based private limited company, in whose name the car with number MH-12/AR-7000 was registered. Shivane village was mentioned in Haveli Taluka as the address of the registered user,” a senior RTO official said on Friday.

"In the notice, the company is requested to present the vehicle at the RTO office immediately for inspection," he said, adding that Pune RTO has also directed its flying squadron to locate the vehicle and take action. necessary.

A photograph of a white Audi with a VIP number allegedly used by Khedkar, 32, has gone viral on social media.

Khedkar was recently in the limelight after creating a controversy surrounding his demands such as a separate and personal cabin during his posting in Pune. She allegedly used a red light on the Audi car and also wrote "Government of Maharashtra" without permission.

Following the controversy, she was transferred from Pune to Washim district before completing her training.

Apart from his conduct in the Pune collector's office, there are also allegations that Khedkar misused disability provision and Other Backward Classes quota to secure a position in the Indian Administrative Services (IAS). in English) elite.

Another RTO official said that in the past several complaints were issued against the Audi car, which was registered with the Pune RTO on June 27, 2012, for alleged traffic violations.

As per section 108 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR), 1989, the state government can grant permission for use of red or amber beacon lights on official vehicles to VIPs, VVIPs and government officials.

In December 2013, the state government removed the list of government jobs eligible to use beacons and published a revised list in 2014, following the directives of the Supreme Court. In October 2014, the transportation commissioner's office asked several departments to remove beacons from the vehicles of officials who did not have the right to use them.

According to the list, only senior officials above the level of secretary in the state government, police officers of and above the rank of inspector general of police and regional commissioners can use amber beacons without flashing lights, while civil servants high-level district officials have the right to use blue beacons.

Khedkar has now taken charge of the post of assistant collector in Washim district collectorate in Vidarbha region.

The Center on Thursday constituted a single-member committee "to verify the candidature" of the 2023 batch Maharashtra cadre IAS officer.

In a statement, the Center said the probe would be conducted by an additional secretary-rank official to verify claims about Khedkar's candidature and other details.
