Official sources said the deceased has been identified as Subhankar Barman, a Class 1 student of Sheesh Niketan School in Bilasipara area of Dhubri.
Local people claimed that Burman died on the spot. However, Burman was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, Barman's mother suffered serious injuries and was admitted to Bongaigaon Civil Hospital for treatment.

The victim was identified as Kaushik Amphi of Dhupguri area of the district.
