Due to the maximum temperature going above 47 degree Celsius at some places in Andhra Pradesh, leaders and candidates of main parties have to work hard in the campaign.

The heat wave has already claimed some lives in both the Telugu states. The forecast of the Meteorological Department shows that there will be no respite from the scorching heat for the next one week.

Health officials in both the states have already issued advisories to people to avoid exposure to sunlight, especially between 12 noon and 3 pm. However, the effect of heat has started appearing since 10 am in the morning and the strong sunlight has forced people to stay indoors and this situation continues till 5 pm.The maximum temperature in Andhra Pradesh is breaking new records every day. The temperature reached 47.7 degrees Celsius at some places in Nandyal district on Friday. Some places in Prakasam and YSR Cuddapah districts also recorded maximum temperatures above 47 degrees.

Due to the scorching heat, the contestants have barely a few hours left to campaign. He is seen visiting his constituencies early in the morning to reach out to voters. They go on foot in the morning or evening.Parties are also facing a big challenge in mobilizing people for the public meetings of their top leaders. It is also forcing parties to cut down on the number of meetings, rallies and road shows. Simultaneous elections for the 175-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats are scheduled on May 13. Voting will take place in all 1 Lok Sabha constituencies of Telangana on the same day.

It is a race against time for the national leaders and star campaigners of Congress and BJP.He is seen running from one public meeting to another.

Parties are arranging big tents at public meetings to protect the spectators from the scorching sun. The maximum temperature has crossed 46 degrees Celsius at some places in Telangana. The scorching heat has forced parties to make changes in their campaign plans.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is addressing 3-4 public meetings a day. He is flying by helicopter to visit constituencies.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao has limited his campaign to the evening. At present, during the bus journey, the former Chief Minister addresses one or two public meetings daily.BJP candidate from Chevella constituency Konda Visvesvara Reddy, who has been campaigning in the constituency for almost two months, told IANS that in view of the summer conditions, he is starting early for campaigning. Covering the villages of the constituency spread across rural areas of Rangareddy district adjacent to Hyderabad is a tough task for the contestants.

Visveshar Reddy had suffered from dehydration a few days ago while campaigning in Tandoor area. The BJP leader said, "I drank a lot of water but still there was this problem. Drinking too much water also leads to dehydration as it flushes out salt from the body.“He now carries water mixed with Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) with him as a precaution.

Some leaders are running their campaigns without any hindrance. I Hyderabad, AIMIM President and sitting MP Asaduddin Owaisi starts his “PAIDA tour” at 8 am and it continues till 2 pm. After a break of one hour, he resumes his journey at 3 pm. Covering the streets and alleys of the old city.His brother and AIMIM leader in Telangana Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi also passed through different areas of the constituency during the day. After this, Owaisi Bhai will address two public meetings between 7 pm. and at 10 pm

BJP candidate from Hyderabad K. Madhavi Lata is walking in the morning and evening to escape the heat during the day.

The scorching heat has dampened the enthusiasm of party workers as they are finding it difficult to mobilize people for public meetings. However, time constraints have left key campaigners with no option but to continue the campaign.Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is leading the YS Congress party's campaign, is covering 2-3 districts every day as part of his Boo Yatra. His campaign includes road shows and 2-3 public meetings.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is flying by helicopter to address public meetings and hold road shows in 2-3 districts every day.

However, only evening and night public meetings or road shows are drawing crowds. Since election campaigning cannot happen beyond 10 pm, leaders are taking care not to violate the model code of conduct.
