Pune: All set to win from her traditional Baramati Lok Sabha seat, NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule on Tuesday said her party and the opposition's Maha Vikas Aghadi have tried to maintain the pride of Maharashtra in the elections.

In the eighth round of counting, Sule was leading by more than 50,000 votes over her nearest rival and sister-in-law, NCP's Sunetra Pawar.

"We tried to maintain the pride, glory and culture of Maharashtra in these elections. I am grateful to the voters of Baramati," Sule said.

"Let bygones be bygones," he said, adding that some of the things that happened during the campaign were not in keeping with the tradition of Maharashtra politics and should not be repeated in the future.
