Shimla, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday congratulated Narendra Modi on assuming the post of Prime Minister and expressed hope that PM Modi will live up to the expectations of the people.

A statement issued here said he expressed hope that during his tenure as Prime Minister, Himachal Pradesh would receive adequate financial assistance from the Central Government for development initiatives in the state.

The Chief Minister also congratulated BJP leader Jagat Prakash Nadda, who hails from Bilapsur district of Himachal Pradesh, on joining the Modi cabinet. Sukhu said Nadda is well aware of the geographical location of the state and expressed hope that he will fulfill the development demands and needs of the people of the state.

Leader of the opposition and former chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, BJP state chief Rajeev Bindal and other BJP leaders also congratulated PM Modi for taking oath for the third consecutive time.
