Chandigarh, Haryana government has announced extension of summer holidays in government and private schools till Tuesday.

According to an order issued by the Directorate of School Education on Monday, there will be summer holidays in all the schools of the state between Tuesday and June 30.

Earlier, orders were given to keep schools closed from June 1 to 30.

However, in view of the ongoing severe heat conditions in the state, it has been decided to declare summer holidays from Tuesday, official sources said.

During the last few days, most places in Haryana have witnessed scorching heat with maximum temperatures ranging between 44-46 degrees Celsius.

The Directorate of School Education has ordered all District Education Officers, Elementary Education Officers, Block Education Officers and Block Elementary Education Officers to ensure compliance with its orders.
