Mumbai: The 17th edition of the advertising industry's annual 'GoFest' will be held in the financial capital due to the Lok Sabha elections, organizers said on Friday.

The annual gathering of advertising industry executives and other stakeholders will return to its home in Goa from next year, it said in a statement.

It has been a "conscious and collective decision" of the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and The Advertising Club (TAC) to host GoaFest 202 in Mumbai from May 29-31, keeping in mind the Lok Sabha elections.

Prashant Kumar, president of AAAI and South Asia chief executive of GroupM, said the decision was taken due to logistical challenges.

The ABBYY Awards, which recognize the best work by the industry, will also complement the event, the statement said.

The organizers also assured that their intention was to "replicate" the GoFace experience in Mumbai.

Voting for the two seats in Goa will be held on May 7, while voting in the financial capital will be held on May 20.
