Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 13: India's biggest pickleball league, the Gujarat Premier Pickleball League (GPPL), concluded on Sunday evening at Dinkers Pickleball Academy and Club, Ahmedabad.

Despite the final match being canceled due to rain, the league was a resounding success, showcasing two exciting days of top-tier pickleball action.

The much-awaited final, to be played between Olive Challengers, owned by Ahmedabad-based businessmen Maulik Shah, Nripal Shah and Vishal Beediwala, and Fansplay, owned by Fansplay Fantasy APP founders Tanishk Mahendru and Aman Grover, ended with both the teams tied. Declared joint winner due to bad weather.

Ahmedabad saw a display of extraordinary pickleball skills with world-class players like Megan Fudge, Ryler DeHart, Armaan Bhatia, Aditya Ruhela and Dhiren Patel representing the twelve competing teams.The GPPL set a new benchmark for pickleball tournaments in India with a substantial player auction pool and prize money of over fifty thousand dollars.

The event was organized by Dinkers Pickleball Academy and club owners Suryaveer Singh and Vallabh Shah, Aalap Sharma and Anand Patel.

The league partnered with Go Bananas, India's leading sports events company, to deliver an unforgettable sporting spectacle.

In the wake of the rain-affected finale, Suryaveer Singh Bhullar announced the eagerly awaited Season 2 of the GPPL, scheduled for January 2025. Bhullar promised an even bigger and grander event with increased scale and prize money, which would further raise the profile of pickleball.India.

Additionally, Bhullar revealed plans for a Junior League Pickleball (JLP) for under-19 players, the dates of which will be announced soon, highlighting the commitment to nurturing young talent in the sport.

The Gujarat Premier Pickleball League is India's leading pickleball competition, bringing together top players from around the world to compete at the highest level. Organized by Dinker Pickleball Academy and Go Bananas, the league aims to promote and develop the sport of pickleball in India.
