Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala General Education Minister V Sivankutty on Thursday announced the state's higher secondary examination results, which showed a decline of 4.26 per cent in the pass percentage compared to last year.

The minister said, out of 3,74,755 students who appeared for the exam this year, 2,94,888 passed the exam with a pass percentage of 78.69 per cent, while in 2023 it was 82.95 per cent.

The pass percentage in the science stream was the highest with 84.84 percent.

The minister said at a press conference here that among various categories of schools, aided schools recorded the highest pass percentage with 82.47 per cent.

The district with the highest passing percentage was Ernakulam with 84.12 percent and the lowest was Wayanad with 72.13 percent.

He further said that 39,242 students achieved A+ in all subjects and among them, 29,718 were girls, 9,524 were boys and 31,214 were from the science stream.

The number of students achieving full A+ saw an increase of 5,427 compared to the previous year.

The minister said the district with the highest number of full A+ students is Malappuram, which also stands first in terms of the number of students appearing for the exam.

105 students scored 100 percent marks in the state plus 2 exam.

Sivankutty said students can check their individual results on the official websites of the education department from 4 pm onwards.

The minister said that the Save A Year (SAY) exam will be conducted from June 12 to June 20 and the last date to apply for it is May 13.

He said that the last date to apply for revaluation or photocopy of answer sheets is May 14.
