Director Kabir Khan said here on Wednesday that Srinagar, Kashmir is an easy location to shoot films and the people of the valley are very cooperative and understanding, which makes all the difference.

Khan, who has directed films like "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", "Ek Tha Tiger" and "New York", was addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the two-day Tourism Development Conclave-2024 at SKICC.

Khan said, "Kashmir is a surprisingly easy place to shoot. We get permissions easier than some other places in the country. Then the most important thing is the people."

Filmmakers Vishal Bhardwaj, Imtiaz Ali and Sanjay Suri were also present.

Khan said that the people of Kashmir help wholeheartedly during the shooting.

“If we are shooting with Salman Khan in Delhi, there will be a huge crowd of people and it takes hours to clear them from there, but in Kashmir, it takes only a few minutes. The people here understand our needs during shooting. If we ask them that we want silence, they will easily become silent,” he said.

“The most important thing is that the people here are very supportive and they understand, they know what is required for the shoot.

"Also there is the beauty of the place and the diversity of the landscapes. But, the one element that makes all the difference is the people," he said.

Ali, who has also shot films in the valley, said he wanted to make a show based on Kashmir.

“If you have a story, send it to us. We are very serious about making it,” he told the media.

When asked if there were any plans to shoot a film in Kashmir, Ali said, 'We all have dreams, which are slowly going to become projects.'

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the conclave organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department.
