Mangaluru (Karnataka), In two separate fire incidents, a vegetable market at Thokkuttu near Mangaluru and a furniture shop in Udupi district were gutted, police said on Tuesday.
According to the fire brigade, a fire broke out in a vegetable and fruit market in Kallapu village of Dakshina Kannada district in the early hours of Monday. Firefighters brought the fire under control.
According to regional fire officer CR Ranganath, the cause of the fire is being investigated, but electrical short circuit cannot be ruled out.
In the second incident, a fire broke out at a furniture and electronics shop in Trasi town of Kundapur taluk in Udupi district late on Sunday evening.
