Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on the Congress on Tuesday, alleging that the oldest party has tried to strangle the Constitution made by Babasaheb Ambedkar from the very beginning.

Adityanath's reaction came amid claims by opposition parties including the Congress that the BJP's "cross 400" slogan aims to change the Constitution and end reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes.

Adityanath said ideologically that no lie can be bigger than these claims of the opposition.

“Everyone knows the history of Congress, Samajwadi Party and parties associated with the India Bloc,” he said.

"Congress has a history of strangulating the Constitution made by Baba Saheb Ambedkar. The Constitution came into force in 1950 and the Congress continuously worked to suppress the freedom of expression. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also described Congress as anti-people and said that it never tried to respect the sentiments of the people.

Recalling the suspension of constitutional provisions by the Indira Gandhi-led government in 1975 to impose emergency, Adityanath said, "Even today, the people of the country have not forgotten the Emergency. It was like strangulation of the Constitution," he alleged. Planted.
