Chennai, Commodore S Raghava on Monday took over as Deputy Director General (DDG) of NCC, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman Nicobar Region Directorate.

An alumnus of the National Defense Academy, Commodore Raghav was commissioned into the Indian Navy on June 1, 1993. The officer had expertise in submarines and had commanded Kilo class submarines and had also commanded INS Rajput in her last year of service, a defense press release said. ,

The officer graduated from the Defense Services Staff College in Wellington and graduated from the Naval Higher Command Course in Goa. Before assuming the charge of DDG-NCC, he was the Chief Staff Officer to the Flag Officer Commanding Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Naval Area and Naval Officer in Charge of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
