Karnataka [India], Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah received a garland made of free bus tickets on Monday. This unique gesture was a way from a female law student to express her gratitude for the free trip
A first year law student from Arasikere presented a garland made from free tickets to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Student MA Jayashree offered this garland during an election campaign in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. While presenting the garland, Jayashree said, "Thanks to the Congress government's free travel initiative, which you implemented as Chief Minister, I was able to pursue my law studies without any financial stress. So I kept all the free tickets and this Made a garland." When I heard that you were coming to Arasikere today, I took the garland and ran it. After expressing my gratitude to the Chief Minister, he received his blessings. Notably, women in the state of Karnataka enjoy free travel services along with non-premium services of the state-run Road Transport Corporation (RTC) under the Shakti scheme launched by the Congress government in Karnataka on June 11, 2023. This is one of the five electoral guarantees given by the government to women and girls who are eligible for free travel in government buses by registering on the Seva Sindhu government portal. Earlier, during the launch of Shakti Yojana, the Chief Minister said that there is no middleman to avail the benefits of these schemes and they will reach the beneficiaries directly. The Chief Minister released the smart card in logo and pin color of Shakti Yojana.
