Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], The Karnataka government has banned the release or telecast of the film 'Hamare Barah' in the state for two weeks or until further notice.

The decision is in accordance with the Karnataka Cinema Regulation Act 1964, Section 15(1) and 15(5).

The Karnataka government alleged that the release of 'Hamara Barah' would create communal tension in the state. The officials took this decision after considering the requests of several minority organizations and delegations and after watching the trailer.

The film was scheduled to be released nationwide on June 7, 2024.

'Our Twelve', which explores the theme of over-population, has attracted attention for its bold narrative and thought-provoking themes.

Starring Annu Kapoor, Manoj Joshi and Paritosh Tripathi, it has captured the public imagination and anticipation.

The ban had caused serious concerns among producers who had invested significantly in the production and distribution of the film.

This legal hurdle came after a petition was filed by activists of a specific religious community challenging the release of the film.

Jointly produced by Birendra Bhagat, Ravi S Gupta, Sanjay Nagpal and Sheo Balak Singh and directed by Kamal Chandra, 'Hamare Barah' promises to present a compelling story while shedding light on a serious social issue.
