Mangaluru (Karnataka), Dakshina Kannada district administration has issued a 'red alert' for Tuesday and the weather department has predicted heavy rain.
It said that schools and colleges will remain closed on Tuesday (July 9).
In view of the heavy rains, the administration issued an advisory imposing widespread restrictions on public movement and beach activities, including fishing or visiting beaches.
According to the advisory, the district administration has advised fishermen not to go into the sea for fishing.
Due to heavy rain, the public has been asked to stay away from rivers and streams.
