Washington DC [US], Former US President Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron Trump, has declined to serve as a delegate at this summer's Republican National Convention, CNN has learned from a senior Trump campaign adviser and a member of Melania Trump's office. Told quoting a statement. "While Barron would have been honored to be selected as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party, he regretfully declined due to prior commitments," the statement from the former first lady's office said. Several other members of the Trump family – including Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump – were also selected as delegates. This will mark Barron Trump's first foray into politics. The Republican National Committee will hold its convention in Milwaukee in July.According to CNN, Donald Trump has said he will likely announce his running mate around the RN convention in July and has been publicly and privately announcing several names. Earlier on Friday, the former president had talked about his relationship with his youngest son, but did not. Speaking about his role as a delegate, he praised Barron Trump in a radio interview and said that his 18-year-old son sometimes gives him political advice. "He's a great guy. He's a little high-strung. I'll tell you. He's a good looking guy, and he's been a really great student and he likes politics.He tells me sometimes, 'Dad, this is what you've got to do,'" Donald Trump said in a radio interview with Kyle 'N Company. "So anyway, he's a good guy. He's a senior in high school now and he College will go. And you know a lot of these college choices are going to change because you've seen what's happening in the last month, Biden has completely lost control of the country," Trump told Barron. Added Trump, who was 10 when his father was elected to the White House in 2016, according to The Hill, to have mostly kept him out of the public spotlight during the former president's tenure.
